Anisotropic Filtering Quality - 2:
ATI Radeon X1950 XTX - 16x HQ AF
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS - 16x AF (default)
ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT - 16x AF (default)
R600's anisotropic filtering quality was more on a par with the Radeon X1950 XTX in our second in-game test, but there are still small quality differences. The GeForce 8800 GTS was still out in the lead - if you look at the right hand wall that runs along the edge of the bridge, you'll notice more detail on the top and along the side of it on the GeForce 8800 GTS.
It's fair to say that the Radeon HD 2900 XT's filtering quality needs some optimisation in the driver (assuming that it's programmable). It could be that the driver build we have here is not up to the same standards as Catalyst 7.4 WHQL. We'll have to see how this develops over time.
